Bunker Survey Services
A vessel bunker survey report is a document that provides an assessment of the quantity and quality of fuel oil bunkered (loaded) onto a vessel. The survey report is usually prepared by a surveyor who is appointed by the vessel owner or charterer to witness the bunker operation and to ensure that the fuel oil is of the required specification and quantity as specified in the charter party agreement.
The survey report typically includes the following information:
1- Vessel particulars: Name of vessel, IMO number, flag, and port of registry.
2- Bunker supplier details: Name of the supplier, contact details, and location.
3- Bunker delivery details: Date and time of delivery, quantity, and grade of fuel oil delivered.
4- Sampling and testing: Details of the sampling and testing procedures followed, including the equipment used, the sampling points, and the laboratory analysis report.
5- Compliance with specifications: Results of the laboratory analysis, comparing the properties of the fuel oil with the specified requirements in the charter party agreement.
6- Remarks and recommendations: Any observations or recommendations made by the surveyor, such as any discrepancies found, any potential risks, or any advice for the vessel crew.
The survey report is an important document that provides evidence of compliance with the bunker delivery note (BDN) and the charter party agreement, and can be used to resolve disputes related to quantity or quality of bunkers.
